For over 40 years, we've blended expert vision care with a personal touch. What started in 1969 as Union Co-Op has grown into one of Alliance’s oldest independent optical providers. Along the way, generations of our family (plus a few four-legged teammates) have joined in, shaping the warm, welcoming vibe our patients know today.

Keeping your current frame and need to order new lenses? Our state-of-the-art onsite lab will get you back in focus.
Don't wait days or weeks for a solution.
Duty to warn: We strongly recommend polycarbonate as your lens material. Polycarbonate is many times more impact resistant than other lenses which makes it the safest. If you are involved in any activity that could pose a risk to your eyes, you should consider ordering lenses made of polycarbonate, the most impact-resistant lenses available.
One-Year Warranty: Includes most frames and lenses. Some exclusions apply. Adjustments and minor repairs are free for the life of the glasses.

If they’re still in good condition, we can reuse them and cut new lenses, no two-week wait.

Carnation Optical opened its doors in 1984—back when big hair, cassette tapes, and the Carnation Mall were all the rage. What started with Dr. Ken Leonard soon became a lifelong family venture when John Fussell joined as an apprentice optician that same year and then took the reins in 1996.
John’s better half, Connie, jumped in soon after, followed by their daughter, Stephanie, in 2004. By 2017, Della Kline joined the crew—officially becoming “family by optical association.”
These days, John and Connie have “partially retired” (translation: they pop in a few days a week to keep everyone on their toes). Give us a call if you’re hoping to catch them in person—they still love seeing familiar faces and sharing a good laugh between lenses.

We close for vacation twice a year: the week of July 4th, and the week between Christmas and New Years Day.
